Sometimes Entertainers need to be entertained too

Sometimes entertainers need to be entertained too. And it’s perfectly okay to have that need. I wish they knew that before they took their own lives. I wish they had come out of their shells. I wish they had taken out time to build a support group for themselves….people they could speak to, people they could confide in, talk about their fears, their failures and not just their success stories, their non- makeup days when they were sitting at home waiting for work to come to them. I wish they had not pretended to be someone else on social media, I wish they had allowed the world to accept them as themselves. I wish they had allowed themselves to accept themselves as themselves. I wish they had realized that their life was not just about their performances or the lack of them. I wish they had stood up for each other, after all a friend in need is a friend indeed. But in this industry full of competitive artists, where is that friend? If you’ve got even 1 person, and I mean just 1 person, who will be ready to take the bullet for you, consider yourself lucky.

So where does one begin? It’s all about you in the end if you need to survive in this cut throat world. You need to invest in yourself. And by investing, I don’t just mean investing time in yourself, I’m talking about investing money in yourself. To learn the things our schools forgot to teach us, to learn the things our parents forgot to prepare us for, to learn the lessons which our exes hurt us for, to learn how to get rid of toxic people from our life and to attract the right people into it, and many such things that will make you a stronger person ready to face the world. The opportunities may come or they may not, but at least you’ll be ready this time round with a better and stronger mindset.

Investing money in yourself is not a bad thing unlike what the previous generations have made us feel. It shouldn’t make you feel guilty. It’s okay to invest in knowledge and life skills, after all, if you don’t survive, what good are those savings? Or that Louis Vuitton handbag or diamond studded Cartier watch you invested in? Buy books or a course that will prepare you to achieve your dreams. Read, Read and Read. Speak to a Life Coach. Help yourself. Be independent, so that you’ll never reach that point where you’d be so low that you’d feel the need to take your own life. It happens to the best of us. Be prepared is all I am saying. The decision is yours at the end of the day.

Love and Light always.
